Data protection & Ethics

The data protection concept describes the data protection and IT security measures for the “MuSPAD” study of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research. Data collection and management are carried out in accordance with the data protection concept. The study complies with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

The data protection concept has been coordinated with the Data Protection Commissioner of the HZI and was approved by the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI). The study is conducted according to the regulations of the Guidelines and Recommendations for Ensuring Good Epidemiological Practice of the German Society for Epidemiology e.V..

The MuSPAD study was advised by the Ethics Committee of the Hannover Medical School, which operates based on the Code of Ethics. The ethics committee has no concerns.
